No Reserve: Jaguar-Powered Custom Roadster

About This Car

This custom roadster is said to have been constructed by a Korean War veteran using a kit purchased in the 1970s or ’80s and the powertrain from a 1950s Jaguar. The car reportedly remained with its constructor until being purchased by its current owner in 2016. Finished in British Racing Green, it is powered by a 3.4-liter Jaguar XK inline-six that breathes through twin SU carburetors and is mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Additional features include four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes with dual front calipers, coilover shock absorbers, 15″ wire wheels, and a single seat trimmed in beige upholstery. This Jaguar-powered custom roadster is now offered by the seller on behalf of its owner at no reserve with a clean California title identifying it as a 1956 Jaguar. Bodywork comprises a combination of steel and aluminum sheet metal and is finished in British Racing Green with pale gray cycle-style fenders. Various imperfections are present in the paint, and two panels forming the rear boattail are finished in primer. Features include a mesh grille, Lucas headlights, louvered hood panels, a headrest fairing, dual Brooklands-style windscreens, Union Jack decals, a driver-side mirror, a Monza-style fuel filler cap, and dual side exhaust outlets. Silver-painted wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are wrapped in 185HR15 Michelin XVS tires. Stopping is handled by Dunlop hydraulic disc brakes with dual calipers at each front wheel. The brake hydraulics were repaired in preparation for the sale. The right-hand-drive cockpit houses a single seat trimmed in beige with color-matched side panels and a bare aluminum center tunnel. Additional features include a central shifter, a passenger-side cubby, and a brake lever positioned outside the coachwork. The drilled-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a gray-painted dashboard housing Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an integrated clock, and gauges monitoring oil pressure, a
