1957 Porsche 356A Speedster for sale on BaT Auctions

This 1957 Porsche 356A Speedster was originally delivered to an American in Nürnberg, Germany. Documents with the car show it to have been located in Colorado as early as 1970, and it being imported to the UK in February 1997 after it was on the lot at European Collectibles in Southern California in 1996. It was refurbished starting not long after arriving in the UK, and is finished in Black paint over Black leather interior. Power comes from a 1600 flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle, and features include a black canvas folding soft top and two types of side curtains. This Speedster was acquired by the selling dealer in 2023 and is now offered in Horton, England with a copy of the Kardex, a Porsche Cars GB Certificate of Authenticity, records and photos from the USA and UK, and United Kingdom registration. Now in black, photos are included in the gallery showing the car with fresh yellow paint in 1976, and still in yellow needing restoration in California in 1996. The body now features a chrome driver-side mirror, a shine-down license plate and reverse lamp unit, gold badging, bee-hive taillights, and body-color bumpers with low European guards. A dual-exit exhaust features chrome tips and headlamps are UK-spec Bosch fluted lens units. The black canvas top was replaced during the refurbishment and sourced from Germany as documented in the receipts file. Two types of side-curtains are included, one set the standard flexible with canvas outer, and the second set has sliding plexi panels inside aluminum frames. The 15″ ventilated steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are mounted with 165/15 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The car was factory equipped with drum brakes at each corner.
