About This Car
The BCNR33 Skyline GT-R is often called the forgotten GT-R, overshadowed by the R32 that started the legend and the R34 that ended the era. But among serious Japanese performance car collectors, the R33 is increasingly recognized as the most refined and capable of the three.
This particular R33 is extraordinary for several reasons. First, it's a late-model Kouki (facelift) example in BN6 — Nissan's Midnight Purple. Only 70 Kouki R33 GT-Rs were produced in this color, making it one of the rarest production configurations.
Second, it was built by Garage Saurus, one of Japan's most respected GT-R tuning shops. The RB26DETT has been converted to a single T88-34D turbo setup producing approximately 800 horsepower. The GREX 6-speed transmission replaces the factory Getrag, providing the strength needed to handle this level of power reliably.
Despite the serious power level, this car retains its original paint — a testament to the care it's received throughout its life. The Garage Saurus build philosophy emphasizes reliability alongside performance, and this car represents their approach perfectly.
