No Reserve: Rothsport 3.8L Porsche 911 Flat
About This Car
Rothsport Racing of Sherwood, Oregon, built this flat-six engine. They used a new Rothsport 3.6L crankcase and bored it to 3.8L to accept 102mm slip-in cylinders and Mahle 3.8L pistons. The engine was run-in and mapped on the dynamometer at Rothsport, reportedly producing 359 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque. The engine can be configured for G-body, 964, or 993-generation Porsche 911 models. The engine is being offered by the seller on behalf of the owner in Sherwood, Oregon. The final bid amount, including the BaT buyer’s fee, will be donated to Warfighter Made , a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to improve the mental health of military service members, veterans, and their families through recreational therapy, camaraderie therapy, S.T.E.M. educational youth programs, and family-oriented events that promote connection and healing. The engine also features a 964 crankshaft, high-performance camshafts, 993 cylinder heads with RSR-sized valves that received a three-angle valve job, uprated valve springs, and titanium retainers. Induction is through a painted GT3 resonant plenum and a Rothsport six-throttle system. Coil-on-plug ignition, a Rothsport ECU wiring harness, a MoTeC M130 ECU, and a single-mass flywheel are additional elements. Exhaust gases flow through stainless-steel Rothsport headers, a GT3 silencer, and angled black exhaust tips. A Rothsport invoice describes the work performed. This engine is being sold on behalf of its owner, and the winning bidder will pay the Warfighter Made organization directly. Filed under: parts and automobilia
