No Reserve: Porsche 356C Type 616/15 Engine for sale on BaT Auctions

This 616/15 flat-four was originally produced for a 1965 Porsche 356C and was overhauled and prepped for racing in 2006. The selling dealer acquired the engine as a spare in February 2026 with the purchase of a race car; however, its usage history during the intervening period is unaccounted for. This Porsche engine is now offered at no reserve in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Type 616/15 flat-four displaced 1,582 cc and featured a bore of 82.5 mm and a stroke of 74 mm in stock form. The handwritten paperwork the seller received with the engine is shown in the gallery and notes 86 mm piston rings. The dual Solex carburetors have been covered with duct tape. Additional details include a cooling fan, fan shroud, ignition coil, distributor, exhaust system, and flywheel.
